Sending a draft and worried someone might use it without your permission? Or need to mark a file "DRAFT" or "CONFIDENTIAL"? With marge-PDF you can add a watermark right in your browser β in 30 seconds, with no signup and no upload to any server.
That's it. No signup, no email, no "choose your plan".
Most online watermark services upload your PDF to their servers. When you're marking a confidential document, it matters that it doesn't end up on someone else's machine.
marge-PDF works differently:
Mark a file as "DRAFT" before sending it to a client or colleague. Prevents accidental use of an unverified version.
Stamp "CONFIDENTIAL" until the contract is signed. Your partner sees the content is not for distribution.
If you sell document templates, watermark the free demo version with "SAMPLE" β buyers see it's not the full version.
Mark your scanned passport, contracts, and certificates with a personal stamp β easier to prove the source if a file leaks.
By default, the mark sits diagonally at 45Β° β the classic format that's readable but doesn't obscure content. Position is fixed for now; customization is coming in a future update.
Currently grey (RGB 50%, 50%, 50%) β neutral and unobtrusive. For a colored stamp, use the "Stamp" tool, where green, red, blue and other colors are available.
Barely. Only text is added β a few kilobytes. If the source PDF was 2 MB, after adding the watermark it stays roughly the same.
The mark is embedded in the PDF as part of the page content. Removing it requires recreating the document β either in an editor or by re-converting from the original.
Yes. Open in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android) β the watermark is applied the same as on desktop.
